Landscapes—Saori Hasegawa’s Solo Exhibition
Saori Hasegawa (b. 1992, Saitama, Japan) has shown a strong passion for art since childhood. She attended an art-focused high school, laying a solid foundation in painting, and later pursued studies in oil painting at Tama Art University, where she earned a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Art and Design.
Her work focuses on the subtle moments within natural landscapes and everyday scenes. Using delicate brushstrokes and a unique perspective, she explores the connection between human consciousness and nature. In this Lost Landscapes solo exhibition, Hasegawa Saori seeks to capture fleeting moments that are often overlooked in the rush of daily life, awakening viewers to reflect on their environment and examining the interaction between the observer and nature, prompting a reevaluation of one’s relationship with the surrounding world. In her creative process, she merges painting techniques with philosophical reflections on time, space, and existence. She abandons traditional perspective methods, opting for vivid colors and well-defined contours to depict scenes that exist between reality and dreamlike visions, giving landscape painting a fresh, contemporary significance.
In 2024, her work was acquired by The Long Museum in China, affirming her potential in the contemporary art world. Through her paintings, Hasegawa aims to guide viewers into a poetic and contemplative realm, inviting them to rediscover the delicate beauty of nature and the human spirit.
