The Lost Realm — Liu Hui Chung’s First Solo Exhibition
Liu Hui Chung’s paintings are guided by allegory, shaping a dreamlike realm of time and space. Drawing inspiration from literature, poetry, nursery rhymes, and music, she employs displacement and layering techniques to unfold her narratives. Her art, both fresh and exquisite, uses anthropomorphized forms as metaphors for the objectification of everyday life, reflecting on how one might reclaim inner perception in the midst of capitalism and consumer culture. Through her storytelling, she reveals the reality within fantasy and the fantasy within reality—landscapes we have all imagined in our minds, yet she has given them form with her brush.
