Silent Respiration of Forests

We are honored to present Japanese photographer Takeshi Shikama’s first solo exhibition in Taiwan, Silent Respiration of Forests. Created in 2007, Silent Respiration of Forests marks Shikama’s earliest body of photographic work and the beginning of a lifelong artistic pursuit. This exhibition brings together key works from across his various series, revealing insights shaped by the artist’s firsthand experiences wandering through remote and secluded forests.

Shikama has held solo exhibitions internationally, including in Denmark, the United States, Belgium, France, Italy, and Spain. His works are held in the collections of prominent Western institutions such as the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego; Brandts Museum of Photographic Art; and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. This publication includes the photographer’s biography, images of the works exhibited in this show, and accompanying critical essays.
