Lo Chan Peng Biography

Lo Chan Peng, renowned internationally for his exceptional realist technique, won numerous first prizes in major national art competitions while still a student. At the age of 27, he was included by Professor Hsiao Chong-Ray in the book History of Taiwanese Art.

 

In recent years, beyond being invited to exhibit at domestic art museums and art fairs, he received several of the world’s most prestigious awards: in 2020, the Portrait Society of America; in 2021, the Art Renewal Center (the world’s only dedicated realist art competition), where he won the Purchase Award, the Portraiture Category Honorable Mention, and the People’s Choice Award. In 2022, he became the first Taiwanese artist to be collected by Japan’s Hoki Museum (ホキ美術館), and was collected again by the museum the following year. In 2023, he won the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize Grand Prize (Overall Winner across all media) globally.

 

In 2025, he will begin residing in Los Angeles as an “Outstanding Talent,” aiming not only to further contribute to the rise and development of Taiwanese art and culture, but also to continually push the boundaries of his technical mastery and inner exploration.
