Liang Yu Hsuan (b. 1992) received her MFA in Painting from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University and is currently a PhD candidate in Art Creation and Theory at the same institution. She has long employed painting as a core medium for perceptual inquiry, developing a highly restrained and precise visual language.
Working primarily in oil, Liang constructs visual fields that hover between reality and inner perception through low-saturation tonal scales, layered brush structures, and subtle treatments of light and shadow.
Formally, she employs an almost monochromatic palette combined with repeated processes of layering and dissolution, keeping the image in a dynamic state between emergence and disappearance. Light, bubbles, reflections, and air are no longer represented as concrete objects, but transformed into pure carriers of spatial shifts, psychological rhythm, and perceptual flow, resulting in visual structures that are both quiet and exacting.
Liang Yu Hsuan’s work has steadily gained visibility across academic contexts, gallery platforms, and the art market, establishing a practice positioned with both scholarly depth and strong potential for collection.
