Hui Kim Ho

Introduction to Hui Kim Ho

Phillip Hui (b.1981, Hong Kong) is a contemporary artist based in Hong Kong, known for his skillful work in oil painting and drawing. He completed a diploma in art and design at Central Saint Martins in London in 2007, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from RMIT University in Australia in 2011. He currently lives and works in Queensland, Australia.

Hui’s paintings blend elements of classical Eastern and Western art, using symbolic imagery and compositions that shift between realism and imagination. His works explore human nature, personal encounters in daily life, and the subtle relationship between people and their environment—earning him strong recognition and support from collectors.

Deeply observant of humanity, nature, and the spaces we inhabit, Hui’s practice reveals a poetic and philosophical dimension. Through a distinctive visual language rooted in both tradition and contemporary reflection, his art not only contemplates the world around us, but also seeks to understand the meaning of life itself.
