Chan’s practice draws on spontaneous associations sparked by everyday objects. Through rhythmically charged lines, he constructs compositions that are both delicate and rigorously structured. With fluid and confident brushwork, he uses ink lines to articulate shifts in volume and spatial depth, giving rise to intricate and imaginative worlds. Within the details, distinct worldviews are subtly embedded, creating visual play between reality and illusion. His refined technique has earned him several awards, including the Professor Chow Sze Shing Award for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy and the Kato Art Creation Award. His works are held in the collection of the Hong Kong Museum of Art as well as in private collections.
